For over a century, chiropractic care has provided a safe, natural approach to health and healing. At River Oaks Chiropractic & Body Works, we focus on restoring proper function to the spine and nervous system, the foundation of your body’s overall health and mobility.
By improving communication between the brain, spine, and body, chiropractic adjustments help your system heal naturally—without the need for prescription drugs or invasive surgery. This holistic approach addresses skeletal, muscular, and nervous system conditions, supporting better posture, pain relief, and long-term wellness so you can live life to the fullest.
At River Oaks Chiropractic & Body Works, your safety and comfort come first. Our chiropractic care is very safe, delivered exclusively by a licensed and experienced chiropractor who carefully evaluates each patient before beginning treatment. By identifying potential risk factors in advance, we ensure every adjustment and therapy plan is customized for your health and well-being.
Studies show that chiropractic care carries significantly fewer risks than many medical treatments involving prescription drugs or surgery. In fact, chiropractors’ malpractice insurance premiums are just a fraction of those paid by medical doctors — clear proof of our strong safety record and trusted reputation in natural, non-invasive pain relief.
Chiropractors don’t “treat” any disease or condition. We focus on identifying and correcting the source of your problem, rather than “treating” symptoms. That’s how we can provide long-term relief for sciatica, neck pain, arthritis, headaches, and lots more!
Chiropractic care can relieve your pain, restore your movement, reduce susceptibility to injury, and slow down or eliminate degenerative disease, such as arthritis, scoliosis, or disc disease.
Yes, children can benefit from chiropractic care. Children are very physically active and experience many types of falls and blows from activities of daily living as well as from participating in sports. Injuries such as these may cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness, or discomfort. Chiropractic care is always adapted to the individual patient. It is a highly skilled treatment, and in the case of children, very gentle.
Most patients report that even when they have come into our office with severe pain, spinal adjustments are not painful. Often, patients report that they can “feel” the pressure lifting from the spine following an adjustment and often experience immediate relief from some pain. Some patients even tell us they feel a sense of total relaxation after an adjustment.
As your Doctor of Chiropractic, I see value to anything that enhances your well-being and comfort, without jeopardizing your health. While Chiropractic care offers an effective, drug-free, non-surgical alternative, Chiropractors also recognize that no single health care profession offers a panacea to every health care need.
The sound is nothing more than a partial vacuum created when the vertebrae are manually adjusted. This sound may occur when spinal stress is released; although, pressure may be released with no sound at all.
Although we may get you feeling more comfortable fairly soon, that doesn’t mean your injury or problem is fully corrected. Acute stages of soft tissue injury (muscles, ligaments, nerves, tendons) of the spine may take anywhere from three weeks to three months to fully heal! Depending on how severely the tissue was damaged and the type of stress placed on it, you may need continued care after the pain is gone in order to keep your symptoms pain-free.
How long would you like to stay healthy, active, and energetic? Depending on your answer, you may benefit from at least a monthly Chiropractic visit to keep your spine in top condition for many years to come. Just as you must continue to brush, floss, and keep regular dental visits to keep your teeth for a lifetime – taking care of your spine is a lifelong program of care that includes eating right, exercise, proper rest, and regular chiropractic adjustments.
When you bend and twist a certain way and hear a popping sound, you aren’t necessarily giving yourself an “adjustment.” Chiropractic works because highly trained practitioners use specific adjustments on specific areas on specialized equipment. Self-administered manipulation can produce serious problems. A word to the wise: Don’t try this at home!
We accept most insurance. We are in-network with many major insurance companies, including AETNA, BCBS, UHC, and PHCS. To determine your insurance benefits and payment options, please give us a call at (713) 953-1356.
Unfortunately, we do not accept Medicaid or CIGNA.
Your nerves control how you move and how you feel. Your spinal cord and nerves pass through your spinal column. Your spine can become misaligned because of improper lifting, a car accident, or even a vigorous sneeze. This condition is called subluxation. Subluxation is a misalignment of one or more bones (vertebrae) in the spine. Spinal subluxations can cause your nerves to become compressed, stretched, or irritated – causing interference of nerve transmission. That interference affects the communication from the brain to other tissue and organs in the body, which in turn affects the function and healing process of vital parts of the body. By removing nerve interference with gentle adjustments, Chiropractic allows your body to better heal itself from illness and injury without drugs or surgery.
If you do not have insurance or wish to use your insurance, but our services are not covered, we have very reasonable self-payment options.
